A handbook covers your legal and operational policies; a staff covenant is specific to ministry. The Staff Covenant speaks to your ministry’s biblical convictions around lifestyle standards and behavior. We encourage ministries to use both.

Yes, with some limits. I'm based in Louisiana and work with ministries nationwide by phone, email, and video call — with the exception of California, where I don't currently take on clients. I also reserve the right to decline work in other states depending on the complexity of local employment law for a given project.

Most projects move at the pace of our conversations together — typically a few weeks from kickoff to a finished document, depending on how quickly we align on your policies and how much revision is needed. I'll give you a clearer timeline once I understand your specific project.

Yes — our Offboarding Blueprint walks you through a respectful, well-handled process so nothing gets missed. (We don't draft severance agreements themselves, since that requires an employment attorney, but we can guide you through everything else.)

Yes — our Hiring Blueprint gives you everything you need to run your own search with confidence, from posting the role through offer letter. We don't provide staffing or placement services ourselves, but with the right tools in hand, most ministries find they don't need to outsource it.

It varies by project, but generally I'll start with a conversation about your ministry's size, culture, and any existing policies you already have. For a compensation review, I'll need your current payroll register. For a handbook or covenant, I'll ask about your existing practices so nothing gets built from scratch that doesn't need to be.

No — I'm not an attorney. I bring 30 years of HR experience, hold my SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications, and do my best to stay up-to-date with relevant legislation to provide you with compliant documents. That said, I always recommend having any handbook, covenant, or policy reviewed by your ministry's own legal counsel before it's rolled out.
-
Yes. I've worked with ministries of different sizes and denominational backgrounds, and every project is built around your specific convictions and culture — not a one-size-fits-all template.

Consulting is ad hoc, pay-as-you-go help for a specific situation or question — $145/hour, no commitment required. Monthly Support is an ongoing relationship: one hour a month of dedicated HR access for $125, with a 6-month commitment, so smaller questions get answered before they become bigger problems.
